Transporter 3 Movie Review
Jason Statham returns to the big screen with the third installment of The Transporter. Amazingly, the movies that Jason Statham stars in tend to feature girls who are pretty but possess a different kind of English accent. Remember Shu Qi?
A Snapshot
A businessman contacts Frank Martin (Jason Statham) for him to transport a package to an unknown location. He refuses and recommends a friend instead. What happens then? His friend gets killed and surprise, he gets the job again!
The package isn’t a girl this time, unlike in the first movie, but a bunch of . But he gets to transport the pretty girl with a Russian… err.. Ukrainian English accent anyway. But wait there’s more! He gets a weird-looking hightech jewelry, aka, don’t-go-away-from-the-car-or-you-blow-up device together with a remote-controlled GPS.
With his friend dead and the don’t-go-away-from-the-car-or-you-blow-up device on his hand, he has no choice but to accept the job. Through the highways of Europe, he drives his Audi, stripped of all its weapons and gadgets, like a demon on the run. Little did he know that the girl Valentina (Natalya Rudakova) sitting on the passenger seat is the daughter of the Ukrainian Prime Minister used as a hostage for him to agree on a shadowy business deal.
How could Frank Martin fail? He displays his martial arts action while undressing and impressing Valentina. He chases the Audi with a small bike, he drives more, he fights more. In short, he kicks the asses of the bad guys with his suit on.
I Like…
The no holds barred action that Jason Statham presents is always a good thing to watch. Bones crunching, fists flying and bodies falling! All the signature Jason Statham moves from the first Transporter movie and from Death Race, too! You’re adrenaline just gets pumped up with the action.
Jason Statham, while lacking in dramatic charm, portrays well the role of the taciturn good guy who doesn’t speak if he doesn’t have to and who doesn’t even crack a joke.
The action scenes and the fight sequences were great! Especially that scene where the Audi kind of tiptoed right in between two long trailer trucks.
I Kinda Hate…
I actually expected that this movie was about fistfights and car chases and kicking ass! But still, the plot was just… bland and predictable. The only thing that makes it different from the first two Transporter movies are the armor-less car and the magnetic blow-me-up device. Apart from that it was the same old tired story which I wouldn’t care elaborating here anymore.
Oh and yeah… the love angle was just too contrived and way inconceivable! I mean, does a girl fall for a guy who beats up bad guys and who just drive, drive, drive? It might have been the wine or the pill that Valentina took but come on, the teasing and the love scene was out of style.
On the Whole
The action and fight scenes together with the car chase cuts were great ones! It’s just that those weren’t enough to make me sustain interest in the movie.
Directed by Olivier Megaton
Written by: Luc Besson & Robert Mark Kamen

i am about to see the movie soon, i like the first one with Shu Qi, pure action and a bit of Chinese Kungfu
but i like action film by Jason Statham and especially i am a fan of Luc Besson, i can’t forget one of his film, Leon the professional.
Hey Khmerbird, yeah. I also like Jason Statham’s movies. It’s just that I don’t think the transporter 3 is one of his better movies.
para mi Jason Statham es un crack
Sadly, I dislike Jason Statham. I hated his performance in The One with Jet Li, then he played in War with Jet Li, and his performance hadn’t gotten any better. I saw the first Transporter movie with Shu Qi, as I love her (loved her in So Close as well). However, the acting done by Mr. Statham was shabby, again, along with the fights. So I’m guessing I’ll pass this one up as well.
