I know you are all excited over which movies to watch for February. It’s the love month after all so you better bring your wifey or hubby to the mall and watch some movies about luvin’. Here’s the movies you’d have to watch out for this Season of Love.

Penstalker Recommends

Before we go to the listing, I just want to recommend the following movies as worth watching. If you don’t find them so. Then come back here and tell me why they are not. :)

Doubt! The movie has a stellar cast and a number of mentions in major award-giving bodies.
Valkyrie. I’m a big fan of period movies, particularly those relating to war. So go check this one out.
Seven Pounds. In the tradition of The Pursuit of Happyness, watch Will Smith with this heart-moving flick.
The International. I’m an action movie fan. Check out this conspiracy-type movie.

Here are the movies opening in February in Metro Manila.
Marley and Me

Marley and Me is the story of a dog that adopted a couple to live with him. Wait, I got it all mixed up. It’s the story of a couple who doesn’t have a baby yet so they decided to adopt a dog. I’m not sure if Marley is the dog or the baby. I better find out in the movie. In keeping with the signs of the times, it is a romantic comedy! Do check out the Marley and Me movie trailer below.

Seven Pounds

Will Smith comes back with this movie about an IRS agent who sets out to make a difference in the lives of seven strangers. He finds redemption along the way. Check out the Seven Pounds movie trailer that follows:

Doubt

Doubt did well at the recently concluded Golden Globe Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Now, we’ll have the chance to see Meryl Streep‘s performance that gave her the Best Actress award from the Screen Actors Guild! Here’s the movie trailer of Doubt.

Valkyrie

Set in World War II, Col Stauffenberg (played by Tom Cruise) muses on how Hitler is destroying his beloved Germany. Together with a band of nationalist German soldiers, they embark on a plan to assassinate Hitler.
Here’s the Valkyrie movie trailer.

The Pink Panther 2

Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) teams up with a bunch of international detectives who are just as clumsy as he is. They are hot on the trail of a thief stealing historical artifacts.

Here’s the Pink Panther 2 movie trailer.

Gran Torino

A Korean war veteran, Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) wants to reform his young Hmong teenage neighbor after he tried stealing Kowalski’s Gran Torino, which is his most prized possession. Too bad, the old man has to deal with a few instances of violence again. Here’s the Gran Torino movie trailer.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

From Sophie Kinsella’s bestselling chicklit novel. A fresh college graduate becomes a financial journalist in New York City but she is still badly addicted to shopping as she falls for a wealthy guy. Here’s the Confessions of a Shopaholic movie trailer.

The International

Clive Owen topbills this action thriller as an Interpol agent who comes across a high profile illegal international arms deal trade and a financial institution powering the illegal deal. Here’s the International movie trailer.

On the local scene…

When I Met You

KC Concepcion and Richard Guttierez reunites after a few months with a love story. Thank goodness, it isn’t a romantic comedy. But if I ever watch this, I might just have to roll my eyes again, which is what I did with “For the First Time.” i hope this movie’s better than their first one. Check out the movie trailer of When I Met You.

I don’t care if you watch in SM Cinemas, Robinsons Movieworld, Gateway Cineplex, Trinoma Cinema, Greenbelt, Glorietta, Rockwell, Market Market, Mall of Asia, Megamall, or wherever. Just try, as much as possible to support Philippine Cinema. and yeah, I better check the Indie Sine of Robinsons’ too. That would be a great means to support independent films.

Интересная идея, но надо бы подумать о рекламе на сайте. По-моему ее слишком много :) Хотя, конечно – это не мое дело :)
