Movie Blog of February Screensucked.com
It’s the month of love and I can feel the love in the air…
Ewww… okay, that wasn’t me. Just some random musing on February, which by the way, is the National Arts Month. February also brings us one Pinoy Movie Blogger. The Pinoy Movie Blog of the Month is Screensucked.com.
Screensucked features short reviews on movies being shown in the Metro. The guy behind this Movie Blog is Regnard Raquedan, a movie enthusiast and an excellent blogger with a number of blogs on various niches.
Here’s the result of my short email interview with Regnard.
When did you start blogging about movies?
In 2007, but Screensucked started in 2006.
Why did you blog about movies and not any other topic/niche?
I watch 2-3 movies per week with my girlfriend and we often have discussions about the films we watch. I figured I might as well blog about the movies we watch since I’m already blogging about other stuff like web design.
What can you say about Philippine Cinema?
Philippine Cinema is not as vibrant as it was (like 20 years ago), and the majority films in the last five years have been more of commercial ventures from the big studios. Thank goodness for that token “good film” during film fests and Indie cinema– they give the local industry a jolt of creativity and good film-making.
One more pet peeve: I know it’s part of business but product placement in local films is just over the top.
What kinds of movies do you love watching and writing about?
I’m a big fan of comedies and thrillers.
Do check out his blog for more movie reviews and articles.
