Since last year, movie trilogies resurrected with their fourth installments. We enjoyed or cringed at watching some of them—Die Hard, Rambo, Rocky Balboa. Other and other ones are still being made like Terminator. Some movies like The Incredible Hulk has been remade although it has been five years only since the last one came out.

X Files is still out there seeking to find the truth! It will hit movie theaters on July 25. X-Files: I want to Believe. This installment is the first re-appearance of the X-Files after ten years. The previous one was “The X-Files: Fight the Future.” Understandably, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are older now. They still show the capability and the acting skills if the trailers are to be believed.

These remakes, reboots, and re-installments are using the nostalgia of fans as marketing tool. They believe that since these movie fans enjoyed the previous installments, they can still pull off a remake, reboot or whatever. The thing is, they are introducing something new into the favorite characters of the fans and this results to complains and movie-bashing by the very fans who supported the previous movies.

X-Files was an interesting TV series while it ran on Fox TV in the ‘90s and in the early 2000’s. Perhaps the dedication of the fans will catapult it to box-office success. But then again, it might not.
