Welcome to Penstalker.com!

I started blogging in the Summer of 2005. I started my blog at Friendster.com, then decided to migrate my poetry to Blogspot.com. A year after that, I got another blog at blogdrive.com. Since I was not truly satisfied with the kind of blogging services I got, I transferred to WordPress.com and stayed there for quite some time.

Why did I ever think of blogging? If you keep a blog, or planning to have one, I think you would know the answer to this.

I had several reasons, really. For one, I wanted to improve my writing and communication skills. With a blog, I’m forced to write at least one article per week. An article a week isn’t a very bad idea. I get to explore a lot of topics monthly and improve on my own writing skills.

Secondly, blogging provides a venue for me to think through the events of my life. It is an opportunity for me to take a look at my life and analyze the things I am doing right and those that I am doing wrong. When you write about an event or a happening in your life, you immortalize it! When you go back to what you have written, you might be surprised that you have thought about it and wrote about it.

Blogging is also a way to connect with people–a lot of them may already be abroad or in far away places. A blog post is also one way for people to read about the events in my life no matter how insignificant they may seem to be.

Lastly, blogging is part of the natural process of internalizing and publishing thoughts. In this regard, such thoughts and writing outputs are but a part of the process of loving God and doing His will.

Penstalker.com is born out my desire to publish my thoughts on the web. Don’t worry though, this blog is not a narcissistic ploy designed to satisfy my egotistical nature. Hahah. Rather, I want to engage in a dialog with audience regarding current events, arts and movements in the society through the Internet.

What to expect from Penstalker.com:

There will be lots of Book Reviews on this site. I am a fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy. But I also enjoy the works of Filipino authors such as F. Sionil Jose, Butch Dalisay, Gemino Abad, and others. On top of the foreign books that I will review, books from Filipino authors will also come be featured.

Movie Reviews. Don’t worry, I’m not the artsy-fartsy kind of movie critic or reviewer. I appreciate a good story, good acting, and amazing scripts with unexpected twists and turns. When I am watching a movie, I also try to track the endorsements and products that appeared throughout the film. Annoying, right? But well, I guess, I just want to mention them in the process.

If you have a very minimal idea on how to write movie reviews, I will also post some articles on how to analyze a film and write a review. If you also have some tips and tricks about writing about movies, please let me know.

Blog Reviews. This blog also looks at other blogs. The world has become an interesting marketplace of idea and a lot of these ideas can be found in blogs. By reviewing other blogs, Penstalker.com contributes to the diffusion of learning and the propagation of various ideas. As a generation, we constantly have to deal with various technologies. So occasionally, I will be posting some reviews about cameras, mobile phones, and other services available.

Government Processes and Links. As a former employee and now as a freelance writer, I have dealt with the government in the past. Anyone who has dealt with any government office in the Philippines will know the frustration and the time wasted that it has caused. Although there are websites of Philippine government offices, there are a lot of processes and links that are not working. So with my contribution, I hope to make your life easier.
