SM Cinema Movies July 2008
I got hold of a schedule of SM Cinema schedule of movie screening for July. There are a number of good movies being shown for the rest of July. I’m giving you the movie screening schedule for SM Cinema. You can go to SM North EDSA, SM Manila, SM Mall of Asia and other SM Cinemas in the Metro to watch these movies.
On July 23, the following movies will be shown: Meet Dave, an Eddie Murphy comedy which I’m not sure if I’d be entertained or annoyed; Prom Night, a movie about… well, a prom gone bad with a spate of killings, Bank Job, featuring Jason Statham as the leader of a group who led a bank crime that remains unsolved to this day, and The Flood, which is about the fury of the waters of the Earth overtaking cities. There will also be a sneak preview of You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, an Adam Sandler-Rob Schneider comedy partnership on July 28 to 29.
On July 30, we’ll get a chance to watch the amazing young singer Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz develop A Very Special Love. Hail to the gays, a Larry and Chuck story is hitting SM Cinemas. Except that this time, it’s the real thing—both Adam and Steve are gays. It’s supposed to be a romantic comedy for gays.
On July 31, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor will hit movie theaters at the same time with US theaters.
Meet Dave. Hail to the fans of Eddie Murphy (are there such species in the planet?). He is back with another comedy featuring Eddie Murphy (who else?) as Dave and Eddie Murphy, too as the leader of the little aliens inside Dave. See the movie trailer below and see for yourself if you’ll be amused. I don’t have the heart to watch this movie. If you do, tell me if it’s good or not. I might just have it on DVD (evil grin).
Here’s the Meet Dave trailer.
Prom Night. If the reviews I’ve read are any good. This movie is full of crap. Storyline is downright bad and the whole moviemaking is stupid. This is the kind of movie that you should get on DVD. It’s not worth wasting time and money over, except maybe if you’re in Third Year and Fourth Year High School and you have this terrible love for your J.S. Prom.
Here’s the Prom Night trailer.
Bank Job. I’ve followed Jason Statham through his acting stints at the Transporter. Didn’t you just love Shu Qi until she spoke? I also watched his movie The One with Jet Li. I loved the action sequences but the story line wasn’t something you can get excited over. Well, Jason Statham has certainly improved through the past few years. This time, he dons the British English Accent with Bank Job, a movie set in England in the middle of the twentieth century (seems like ages ago, isn’t it?). So far some people are saying that the bank heist wasn’t really true. But anyway, it might be another B-movie for Jason Statham. I might watch this movie.
Here’s the Bank Job trailer.
The Flood. Title’s boring, that much I can say. Unless you put a stellar cast on this movie, it might not be as compelling as Volcano in which Pierce Brosnan led the cast.
Here’s the Flood movie trailer.
Go pay a visit to your favorite movie houses and watch some of these movies.
