Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle Sign Up for Iron Man 2 and Avengers

Officially, Terrence Howard is out and Don Cheadle is in! After his great performance in Iron Man, Terrence Howard has been removed from the cast. The reason behind that is anybody’s guess. In any case, there’s not stopping Iron Man 2. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Billionaire Tony Stark with secret identity Iron Man but this time, Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes’ character will be played by Don Cheadle.
Both of these actors have also signed up with the Avengers project. We’ve been catching some snapshots of the upcoming Avengers project in the Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk. Marvel is really psyching up the fans till the are feverish with excitement over the upcoming Avengers movies.

Iron Man 2 will have the same director-John Favreau, who will also be the executive producer of the Avengers movie. Amazingly, the announcement also came with a synopsis of the Avengers plot:
“In a movie event, The Avengers will bring together the super hero team of Marvel Comics characters for the first time ever, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk and more, as they are forced to band together to battle the biggest foe they’ve ever faced.”
The big question is WHO WILL THAT BIG FOE BE?
Iron Man 2 will be released on May 7, 2010 and the Avengers on July 15, 2011. Still a long wait folks!
