Resident Evil Ad Infinitum?

When a sequel becomes successful, the producers would naturally go for a trilogy. When a trilogy proves to be a success, then they would go for a fourth installment! Man! How do they stretch the storylines of these movies?

Since, we’ve seen a flurry of Sequel number 4’s recently, Paul W.S. Anderson seems to be bursting with idea about the possibility of filming Resident Evil 4. The project is not approved yet. According to MTV, Anderson is still talking to Sony about the potentials of Resident Evil 4, but he did not give any indication if Sony is receptive or not!

What Anderson is sure of, however, is that “Resident Evil: Extinction” with its kickass action and Matrix-like powers for Alice is not the last in the franchise. After all, we saw Alice played by Mila Jovovich in “Extinction” with lots and lots of her clones right before the movie ended.

Anderson confessed though that he has not thought of a storyline for the fourth installment yet. Probably, when he cooks something up and serve it up to the bosses at Sony, he may get what he wants.

Resident Evil is cool video game, albeit a bloody and gory one. Seeing it come alive on the big screen was amazing! But if the storyline would be squeezed out too thinly, I don’t know where the series will end up. In the dustbins of history, I daresay!

I am not very interested in a fourth installment of Resident Evil. If they finally produce it, I might not watch it. But then again, I just might. Maybe, I’ll just content myself with the video game.
