Prom Night is a movie about a prom gone bad thanks to a teacher who’s so obsessed with his student that he just has to kill everyone else! Watch the movie only if you have a bad experience with your Prom Night and you just want some of your classmates to perish off the planet. You can also be excused for watching this movie if you’re feeling extra generous and you want to give your money to the producers of the film out of pity.

The Prom Night Story Line. The plot of Prom Night follows the character of Donna Keppel as she goes to the Senior Prom. You’ll learn in the movie that Donna’s family was murdered by a psychopath teacher who was obsessed with Donna. I don’t really understand why he had to kill off the family of the girl she likes. Maybe he thought, Donna will love him back. Psychopath indeed.

Donna saw her teacher stab her mother to death. So she went off to live with her uncle and aunt. Since she’s in trauma, she went to therapy. But in a stroke of genius and luck, she goes to study at Brown University. Too bad, though, the psychopath uberly-in-love obsessed teacher escapes from prison and heads to the hotel where the prom is being held. One by one, Donna’s classmates turn up dead and psychopath teacher will cut her way through to her.

Good Stuff. Since this is a movie about a prom night, girls (and their dates) might be induced to watch it. The only amazing thing is that the movie is PG-13 and there’s not much cutting and bleeding onscreen. Next question please…

Badness. The whole movie is disappointing. Story’s cheesy and predictable. You don’t know where the setting is and a lot of the characters are just plain boring. You won’t come to know the school and the classmates better. All they do are…uhmmm, die and be pursued by the killer.
Watch Only If…Watch it only if you feel like a philanthropist about to give money to some great cause for humanity, which unfortunately is not the case for Prom Night movie. Otherwise, you’d be okay with a DVD copy of this movie.

Penstalker rating is 3 cups o’ coffee out of seven.
