Penstalker is Back!

You might have been wondering why I was out for the past week. Well, I did some sort of media work for the church, which I am a member of. We had a week-long conference from Nov 18-24 at Ermita, Manila. I was a part of the video and Internet coverage team of the Conference. So I had to setup the website and make sure that we had the necessary webcams for the live video streaming for the conference! What a tough work it was!

Thankfully, the cost of putting up live video streaming is not that much, we spent only about less than 5,000 pesos for USB cable extensions, domain name, Wireless LAN expander and other incidental expenses. It was a great learning experience for me. Through the video streaming online, the members of the church who were in the United States, Singapore, Dubai and other countries managed to watch and be updated with the goings on of the Conference.

It would probably be a good idea to continue the website and refine its concept. This would be similar to having a TV station, only that it is broadcast over the Internet. I’m excited over this development and would probably make into the media practitioner that I am planning to be.

As I go back, I will also introduce several changes into the Penstalker Blog. I would add some discussions about books and literature and how they relate to movies, about Filipino culture and even about the Internet as an increasingly popular medium in the Philippines. So you better stay tuned and check out what Penstalker will offer.
