Manny Pacquiao is hitting the ring again with the WBC Lightweight Champion, David Diaz. Diaz won over Erik Morales in August last year.

David Diaz has a pretty good record of 34-1-1. 17 of these fights were knockouts. After beating Erik Morales, he will stand up against Pacquiao to defend his title at the Lightweight Division. He said that he will not give up his crown to Manny Pacquiao because this is his division. Pacquiao is a newcomer in this division and David Diaz naturally would be protective of his own crown.

The Manny Pacquiao versus David Diaz fight, entitled “Lethal Combination” is set on June 28. I bet that this day is going to be a silent one again because people will be off the streets and glued in front of their TV sets and the radios awaiting the result of the Manny Pacquiao versus David Diaz fight.

Manny Pacquiao has been quoted by The Pacquiao Files saying that “this is my drive for five world titles in five different weight classes and I will not be denied. I am fighting for history, for destiny and for the people of the Philippines.”

David Diaz, most likely, will also benefit from this match with Manny Pacquiao. After all, Pacquiao has been proven, time and again, to be a magnet for millions of dollars and hundreds of advertisements and endorsements.

I wonder what brand of shoes, toothbrush, shirts, toothpaste, detergents, deodorants, and cotton buds Pacquiao will endorse after his fight with David Diaz.

If you haven’t heard yet, Pacquiao’s record is 46 wins and 3 losses and 2 drawn. Among his fights, he knocked out 34 of his opponents. Thankfully, he isn’t battling another Mexican this time. David Diaz is an American.

Manny Pacquiao is already in Los Angeles, busy preparing for his fight on June 28. Let’s see how the fight will turn out!
