Pacquiao Gearing Up for Diaz
In the United States, Manny Pacquiao’s fight with David Diaz will be on the evening of June 28 in the United States. That will be June 29 here in Manila. That’s roughly 27 days from now! Whew. By now, I could imagine Pacquiao in his shorts, boxing gloves, shorts, shoes and long socks sweating it out. Punch here. Punch there. Shout! Ra-rah! Ahoo! Ahoo!
Since May 28, Manny Pacquiao was training in Los Angeles and his training gym, Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, was closed to the public. Perhaps Manny Pacquiao was trying to protect his fighting style from being known to the eyes of David Diaz. This means no videos, no pics, no eyeball for Pacman. David Diaz is also keeping his practices and sparring sessions in secret. Too bad, he started earlier than Pacman. But we’ll see who’s the better fighter between the two.
Last Friday, May 30, Manny Pacquiao joined David Diaz for a press conference in San Francisco. They have to let the people know that they are dangerous. They are waiting to fight. And that they are not afraid of each other.
After the Press con, Pacquiao and Diaz went through an open training session for the benefit of their fans in nearby Berkeley City. The open training session was sponsored by Top Rank boss Bob Arum.
Bet you didn’t know… David Diaz’s birthday is on June 7. He’ll be turning 32 by then. Will Manny Pacquiao give him the birthday gift of a victory in what was termed as the Lethal Combination match? We’ll see!
