Blogging and Freelance Writing

I’ve been blogging for more than two years now. I used to write my poetry on this blog and explore about literature. After becoming busy with the church youth organization I belong to, however, I started missing out on my blog posts. I promised myself that I should write a blog post at least once a week. Some weeks I did, some weeks I didn’t. Oh well, it maybe because of laziness, or busyness. Yada… yada… yada…

I’ve been hit with the blog addiction recently. After I transferred back my blog here at WordPress, I can’t help but spend lots and lots of minutes configuring my blog. I should probably get my own domain name and start my own website pretty much like what other bloggers are doing. Too bad, I don’t know how to create my website yet so I’m consulting several websites such as The Site Wizard and 2CreateaWebsite. So far so good. I already have a domain name but I’m still shopping for the best webhost around. Before May ends, I should have my own website in place.

If you have an idea of a good title for a blog and what kinds of topic, give me a buzz, alright? So far I’m interested in technology, movies, books, gadgets and gizmos, Science Fiction and Fantasy, fitness and health, going to the gym, faith and relationships and dealing with the government among others. Perhaps the list may grow but at least for now, those are what I want to write about.

One thing I’ve resolved with this blog though is that I will avoid the juicy personal stuff about me. Who would be uberly interested about me except me? You get the point. But if we can find grounds where we can talk, then that would probably benefit you and me and the whole wide world. You’ll probably hear about my escapades and my speaking engagements every now and then but I’ll try to provide as much helpful and useful information in this blog as I can muster. I don’t get paid in doing this you know.

I’m also busy with my freelance writing. When I say freelance writing, don’t confuse it with an author with very heavy eyeglasses and unkempt hair. That person isn’t me. Definitely not. Ask my girlfriend. Also, the definition of freelance writing has become somewhat loose nowadays. Anybody can write and earn from such writings. There are a lot of opportunities in the Internet for writers. It’s just a matter of typing the right keywords over at Google or Yahoo.

I hesitate to call myself a writer because in my mind, a writer produces literary outputs and joins Literature Award-giving bodies like Palanca, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Man Booker Prize, Pulitzer, etc. No, no, I’m not that kind of writer. I earn my living by being a writer. Sometimes I feel that I am writing rubbish. No kidding! I get paid for writing those stuff but I don’t have to like them. Well, you get the point!

I’m ranting. It’s 3:30 in the morning and I have just finished my fourth article since last night. Whew! I should probably be asleep now but I’ve been bitten by the blog bug. :D

    Heyyo Ading!

My laptop was bought just a week before Laptops with Vista were released. My brother, who bought his later than I did, bought one with Vista.

You’re right, it takes ten thousand years for it to process commands!
