This is the season for Film Festival again!

On March 22 to April 13, 2009, the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival will be held. As of now, the Film Festival is calling for entries from all over the world. Details below.

Call for Entries!

The 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival (22 March to 13 April 2009)

Deadline for regular entries: 31 December, 2008
Final deadline for late entries: 16 January, 2009

The Hong Kong International Film Festival is one of the most respected and admired film festivals in Asia, and has played an important role in the development and promotion of Asia cinema cultures by bringing the world’s finest films and filmmakers together with passionate and enthusiastic.

This Film Festival will have the following categories:

Asian Digital Competition – Competition,
8 Asian films in digital format Humanitarian Awards for Documentaries – Competition,
8 documentaries addressing social issues in aesthetically significant manners
Indie Power – Independent films from around the world
Animation Unlimited – Selections of feature-length or short animations

The programme also includes many other regular sections like Galas, Master Class, Hong Kong Panorama and Global Vision. And there are a number of focuses, retrospectives and tributes that change every year.

The “Call for Entries” is now open for any short or feature-length, documentary or drama, avant-garde or animation filmmakers to apply. Click here to apply and read the submission regulations.
